A80 + LEXAR 512Mb 40x COMPATIBILITY

Hello. I have a digital camera :Canon A80 Powershot.I would like to ask you if the (Lexar 512MB Compact-Flash 40x), is compatible with my camera,and if it would improve its speed?

I am using a Lexar 512MB 40x CF card in my A80 with no problems for stills (or for a few video clips). I have not used another card so I cannot comment on relative speed. Note, however, that this card only provides 40x speed if the camera has a special capability to support it. Otherwise, it is just 24x speed. See the Lexar website regarding this issue. I do not believe the A80 supports the 40x speed. I seem to remember that only a few high end DSLR's supported the full 40x speed at the time I looked into it. I chose this 40x with the expectation that I might move to a DSLR in the near future.
