Looking for the most zoom you can get? How about the Carl Zeiss PhotoScope 85 T* FL. It has 15 - 45x magnification, a focal length of 600 - 1800 mm, a flip-out OLED display, and an IR remote for vibration-free release. But it won't be available until next Spring or Summer and the price is not known yet.

How about Sony DSC-H50? It got #1 superzoom digital camera rating at CNET.

I think bascom was referring to a SUPER, super zoom!

A mere 15x zoom? Pffft... that's nothing! :D

Incidentally, most people will agree with me when I suggest that CNet don't really know what they're talking about when it comes to reviewing digital cameras. Another, more well-respected reviewer said of the H50's optical performance:

Strong chromatic aberration at all focal lengths affects sharpness at outer edges
High barrel distortion at wide angle
High pincushion distortion at telephoto
Noisy images starting at ISO 200
Noise suppression softens detail even at the lowest ISO
Color fades at ISO 800 and above

And I know whose judgment I respect (more than CNet's).

Cheers :)

A focal length of 600 - 1800 mm is more like a telescope than a camera. I wonder how much this will cost. $500? $1,000?
