Last week I visited the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. Here are some Pics from that visit. I hope the size comes out right.
The leaves were not at peak, but that was my vacation, and the leave color didn't cooperate with my timing.

Looks like a great place to visit Guntoter. I have a short trip planned next week to a simular looking area here in OK. I think it will be a bit early as well to get the peak of the leaves changing.
Nice pics by the way. Maybe we will have better timing on our next trip :)

Thanks Spook,
I used my XTI with a Canon prime 28mm f1.8 lens (using f11) and a tripod. However, the final one of a rail fence was taken from my van while it was moving (I was driving). I know, not safe, but I was only moving about 5 mph.
I hope your trip will yeild some great shots. Please post them.

You look to have been quite close to Cherokee there.

I will sure do that. I'll have both my Canon bodies with me, the old Xti and the first trip for the 50D. I can hardly wait!

Not that close to Cherokee. Closer to Blowing Rock, NC. Blowing Rock is the "little" Gatlinburg in the mountains.
Spook, You have an XTI & a 50D? If you look at my wish list, a 50D is there. Be sure to let us all know how the new body performs, and Pics, pics, pics.

Guntoter, I listed on another thread what my likes and dislikes are between the Xti and 50D. I've been on a 24/7 on call where I work for the last month, so I haven't had a chance to get out with the 50D. Here are some samples I have so far just here at home. Can't wait till I can get some landscape stuff next week :)

My cat Buddy was my first flash photo. 100mm macro
Moon was with Sigma 150-500 Cropped bigtime.
Fly warming on the brick was my 100mm macro cropped slightly. Much better 1600 iso than my Xti. Full EXIF embedded in pics as always. Can be viewed via Opanda exif viewer ect...

spook,
with the moon, what was the shutter speed, ISO, mm, etc.
That is a fine pic. Even with the extreme crop you still have great detail. All pics were good.
