Deleted file recovery HELP!

Ok, here is the scoop. I am a moron. I was deleting files in bulk and clicked on my favorite one then hit delete. Oops, gone.

I figure no problemo, I will just get some software and recover the file. Got the file back. The software says it is in great shape and should work. The file came back as _MG_xxxx.CR2. I cannot open the file in an RAW viewer with that name or renamed IMG_xxxx.CR2. Any advice?

I was messing around with the CHDK software on my camera and from memory it saved those RAW photos as .CRW. I could not open them with anything I could find; in the end I had to convert them to dng files - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Negative_Specification
using http://dng4ps2.chat.ru/index_en.html

It may be worth giving that a go.

You can make use of the file recovery mac (http://www.filerecoverymac.org) software. The software does the recovery with very fast speed because of its advanced search algorithms. It gives the output of high quality. There is no need of taking technical knowledge before using it. :(
