I used my camera about 1 month ago, the camera was fine. But when I tried to take some pictures today, all of the pictures come out almost white with lines throughout the photo (example photo attached). Can someone tell me what's happening. I also noticed that before taking the photo, there is a bit of flickering in the bigger display viewer.
If it does it after the batteries have been removed and reinserted and does it in all modes then I'd say it's a dead camera. I have an S1 IS and used it quite a lot. Fortunately mine still works. Maybe try doing a firmware update?

Most likely your CCD sensor is dying. There's no way to fix it.
However, it may be covered by a Canon recall.

Contact Canon and you might get a new camera from them.
