Hi everyone,

I've heard many rumours about new Canon cams coming out in the next month or so. I own an Ixus 500 (S500) and may consider trading it in for the Ixus 600 (S600) if it meets my requirements. Let's say the Ixus 600 costs about the same price of $450 add/minus 50. My Ixus 500 is about 3 months old, zero scratches, only camera and battery used (others untouched) and in spanking new condition. Do you think I can trade it in without paying extra?

Trade it in to who? I don't think anyone will accept that camera as a full trade in on it's replacement. A new S500 is selling for $350 at B&H, a used one is worth less, say $250 tops.

I also don't think that would be a smart move....the S600 (has this model even been announced yet???) will most likely have very minor improvements over the S500...you have to ask yourself "When do I stop upgrading?" I would say when you have outgrowned the features of a camera. But since you just got it and it has 5 megapixels, it is far from being outdated. You could sell it on eBay but like David said, you will lose a lot of money doing that.
