Hi, I just bought a canon sd790 is and I cannot open my images! Why is that? I have a dynex photocard reader for my sandisk mini card. It says it cannot open any of the files. What in the world is my camera saving my images as?! Do I need a file converter? I do not want to use canon's software. I edit my pics in microsoft photodraw. Any info would be awesome!

The SD790IS saves images as standard JPEG files. I would suggest that you use the camera to format your memory card, and then retry taking pictures and transferring them to your computer.

Not at all. In the Camera settings menu will be the format command. But before you format over those pictures try some photo recovery software like "F-Recovery" (http://www.filerecoverytools.com/products/fr_sd/) to get back your pictures and recover your card.
