HELP! Power Shot A540 - No Memory Card Error

I have a Power Shot A540 camera I received as a gift this December will be a year. This past Saturday I tried to take pictures with it and it keeps giving me a "no memory card" error. The memory card in the camera is not new and I have approximately 50 pictures on it already. I removed the card and replaced it with another one and still no luck. Has anyone ever seen this before and can you help me.
