View Full Version : Anyone here from London UK ?
Im in London for a while on business, my girl came in today as well, we have a couple days to walk around, do some shoping, etc.
I wanna buy some cool jeans, shirts, t-shirts, etc - can You guys/girls suggest some good stores/places we could go to ?

It's all pretty much the same all over now. Carnaby Street was the home of UK fashion for decades. Now you'll find pretty much the same as in Warsaw, in London - even ghettos.
We did end up on Carnaby Street and amongst others, I did find a pair Diesel trousers that fit me which is a success. Oh and I totaly disagree...Warsaw is full of crappy/expensive shopping malls and it misses on all those small, funky stores which London is full of. I was looking for a Dinner suit in Warsaw for my wedding and it realy was not possible to get anything desent for under L 1.000. I found one in Chelsea yesterday, got it tailored to fit me perfectly and I paid 245 quid along with 2 shirts and a boe tie. never thought I'd live the day it will be cheaper to do shopping in London than in Warsaw...I remember my Dad making $13 a month in the early 80's - hows that for a change :)
cheers !
and sory for an off top.
The only thing I can remember about Warsaw is the pickpockets at the railway station.
sory to hear that Rhys.
Oh it was fascinating. I watched them rush the passengers climbing aboard trains, trying to slash bags and pick pockets. Then there were some smelly tramps asleep on station benches and guys wandering about trying to interest the unwary in drugged drinks.

I missed all that, because I went straight through Warsaw on the train and stopped in Krakow instead. Glad I did, lovely town filled with lovely people.
Yeah, well...I wouldnt judge the whole city by the trash in its train station - but thats just me.
Krakow is wonderfull and it is definately a nicer town as far as architecture and night life is concerned. Warsaw is realy nice once You meet the people...I know many Americans that came and stayed for good in Warsaw opening their own restaurants, getting jobs, etc.
PS. My Brother just came back from Madrid where he was pick-pocketed the first day at the train station...lost 600 Euros + all his ID's but still loved the town, the people, the parties...I guess its a matter of sober judgement which some people lack.
Actually, I spent most of my time when I stayed in Poland, in Kolo.
Dont know what "Kolo" might be...there is a the crappy flee market in a preety bad neighbourhood in Warsaw and its called "Koło" but I presume You didnt spend Your stay in that crap hole flee market, or did You ?

That's the one. I met a girl called Anna Rux on the bus from Warsaw to London one year. She lived in Kolo and we struck up a friendship and I helped her out in Britain.
