I originally posted this as a reply to an older thread, but I figured it deserved it's own thread.

There was a leak! Here is what the SD880 will have...

10.0 MP (1/2.3" sensor)
4x optical zoom (28mm-112mm)
3.0" LCD (230,000 pixels)
Digic 4

And here is what it'll look like...

Weird gun-slit flash, eh?

Digic 4 will use h.264 compression, which is nice. The sensor is slightly bigger, but still has more pixel density. There's a fraction more zoom.

I can't BELIEVE there is no HD video. The 870 was a pretty small upgrade on the 800, and the 880 seems to be an even smaller upgrade. How disappointing. I guess I'll get a closeout 870, or maybe it is time to consider a Panasonic.

Looks like the leak is spot on. It is unbelievable they didn't include HD video. They also have an ELPH with full manual controls. Granted, that isn't so important on this type of camera, but what would it hurt to give the option of manual control somewhere in the menu?

Canon is losing their position quickly. If only Panasonic would fix their noise issue I'd already be over there. Looks like I'll skip (another) generation of cameras. You'd better get on your game, Canon.
