Confused with software for cameras....

I know that most cameras come with software to help with loading, altering photos on your computer. But, what is the most popular, ease of use one??? Do you just take what comes with your new camera, or buy another one. I don't want to use photoshop, btw....

Something easy, does the trick. I have a new HP business class laptop, I'm not sure if this has anything fancy to load my photos.

Picasa is a nice, easy to use free program. It downloads your pix (without any need for your camera's specific software) and sets up albums, as well as giving you some reasonable image editing and correction tools.

FastStone Image Viewer is my favorite.

Also been playing with Irfanview, Raw Therapee and Light Box.

The later, Light Box has a Plus for $20, I'll be purchasing that because it also has a clone tool. I've been talking to the owner/maker of the program and coming in the next few weeks is the ability to save the exif data and a fine tuning on the sharpening tool.

If you shoot at high iso you might also want to look at Noiseware from www.imagenomic.com but it's $30 for the standalone.

I should add I always process my raw files with Master 2 before doing any other work...

I like Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard that came on my computer. It's loads my pictures direct to the files I make on my computer. If I want to mess with them in HELICON FILTER, PICASA, or any other tool I just open the tool and incert the picture. Then I do not have to put up with any of the BS that comes with any of those programs.

Sorry, but you'll have to clarify your question a bit more to — hopefully — get some help. I'm assuming you're asking if anyone here has used any of this software?
