Me I like my Z712is much better ... much much better in low and no light. The IS works better on the Z712is - Z812is - Z1012is group.
A long lens can be added to both I use the Olympus TCON-17 part number 200852
The flash is bout the same on both

Tell ya what to try ...... at night go into a room shut the door turn out the lights (NO LIGHT) and take a picture of someone about 3-6ft away. Look at the flesh tones, focus, colors, and so on. Now take a calender in the same room lights out black dark and take a picture of the calender. Now tell me if you like that Z712is.

lenses and filter's??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so i just bought a Kodak EasyShare Z712IS. and i was told to shoot outdoor stuff that i should get some lenses and filter's. i would like to know some recommedation's for the following shooting condition's.
Indoor sport's??
Indoor/Outdoor Portrait's??
Scenery (i'm going to the smokey mountain's. if that help's??)???
and last but not least, Motorcross ( dirt bike and atv racing) ???
Lens and filters ....
First you need the lens adapter KODAK part number 837 9166 a MUST if you want to add a lens of filters. You'll be looking at 55mm threaded filters and lens
A good---Circular Polarizer 55mm threaded
Neutral Density 55mm threaded
Long lens Oly TCON-17 (200862) or
Long lens KODAK TCON-14 (8756488)
From that point you can get what ever filter you think you want to play with. B&H is a good reliable company to buy from. Go read up on filters to see what you might want to buy for yourself. Most are rather inexpensive
