My suggestions would be Canon A590 IS, Canon SD850 IS, or Olympus Stylus 840. These are kind of "back to basics" against the latest high tech designs. But they do deliver attractive color and handle flash situations well.

Since you don't seem to be limited by price, and you want to take lots of indoor, low light photos, I'd buy the Fuji F100fd, which I think is the best small camera for the high ISO shots you're interested in.
