From a hike this past weekend up Mt Madison in sunny NH.

This was a cold day, temps between 10 and 20 degrees but felt warmer in the sun. I shot about 100 shots, all at ISO 50 in manual mode, no problems with battery use on my single battery. I turned off the LCD and shot everything with the optical viewfinder.

Later that night we had a group party with lots of other hiking buddies around a campfire and big tent. It got down to 0 or so that night, and some difficult photo situations around the campfire. Some shots used flash, the bonfire shots did not. I left the ISO at 400 by accident for some of the last shots, you can see the noise.

First big test for the new camera, it performed flawlessly. Tough to operate with my big gloves, but fine with my liner gloves. Such is the price we pay for photos while winter hiking. I loved the very quick startup time, made for less time with hands exposed. It seems to have focused correctly on every shot.
