Indoor yes.

No

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
No

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
Sony w1-- but they all have barrel distortion! I hate that!

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T HAVE BARREL DISTORTION!

My problem is that all the cameras I've bought and returned so far have barrel distortion. I really notice it because I'm taking pictures of walls and stuff. Weatherproof sounds cool and Image stabilization is nice.

Please suggest a digital camera that does not have that distortion, that's my main goal- to get one that doesn't have this.

Um... I'm pretty sure you're not going to be able to find a camera under $300 that doesn't show some sort of optical distortion in the lens.

Better bet is get a camera you like and find software that will fix it for you.

I have cs3 suite but I heard only cs2 has stuff to fix this type of distortion.

Wow. CS3 has filter>distort>lens correction. I guess I'm settling with the sony. thanks for the help.

Several of the Nikon compacts come with barrel distortion correction built into the camera. The lens does have distortion, you do have to switch this option ON to correct it. But it does work. Distortion free images directly out of the camera. I don't know why other camera makes don't have this feature, kudos to Nikon.
