I haven't had a decent digital camera before and don't really know how to pick one! Here's my requirements...

Maximum I want to spend is £160

A compact camera would be nice but is not my number one priority

Not overly bothered about megapixels or zoom (maily because I don't know much about them lol...zoom is probably more important to me that MP)

However image quality IS important (i'd rate this 8/10)

If manual controls means the ones where you pick outdoor/beach/portrait etc I am happy to use these

Generally want to be used for family pics, holiday pics and nightclub/gig pics

I will not be making big prints

Yes there will be indoor/low lights pics

Yes I will be shooting sport and action shots

No brands I like or hate

Ones I have been suggested so far are Kodak V1233 12MP and Fuji F30 and Fuji F50

Other requirements: One that uses an SD card would be good! And easy to operate and upload the pics.

Any help will be much appreciated! I will be buying my camera from Comet, Woolworths or House of Fraser as I have Love2Shop vouchers.

I see Comet has both the Canon IXUS80IS (SD1100 in the US) and Sony W130. These are the ones I would suggest. Both have f/2.8 lenses, which will help when shooting in nightclubs. Play with both, get the one whose controls work the best for you. Here are links to some more threads that may help -
