View Full Version : Is anyone else still having trouble with Quick Repy?

Some time ago me and some others on the site experienced some difficulty with quick replies on this site. Basically when you posted a quick reply you didn't get routed back to the forum page. Instead you ended up with a blank white page with either a "done" or a "stopped" at the bottom.

I had this occurring with Firefox 2 and XP SP 2. Now I have completely left Windoze and have a new Macbook Pro with OSX 10.5.4. The only common factor is Firefox. I am now using Firefox v3.0.1, and the same problem is still occurring. This weird little problem is only happening here on DCRP. POTN, and Photo Review have similar BBs and I have no problems with them.

Must be a Firefox bug, just tried a test with Safari and the QR worked fine.

Jeff, I hope you're reading this. I did a little google on this problem. Apparently it's fairly prevalent. Here's a bunch of gibberish that I don't understand, but maybe you do. It appears to be a fix for this.

It's a bug that affects all forums - not just DCResource.

Like I said in my first post Photography review and POTN don't have this problem. The only thing I can see is this site uses a newer version of vBulletin than POTN or Photoreview.

It's the forums software, not site-specific

Either way ...... it's not something I worry about.

It works perfectly with Google Chrome; I tested it 5 times.... the problem is Mizilla Firefox.

It's definetly Firefox problem. However there's a walk-around available.

You have to modify the address in the address bar without actual modification :) which will cause Firefox to reload the page. E.g. you delete the last digit in the http address and then add it back yourself. For some odd reason the ordinary reload in FF just does not work.

Pretty annoying feature in Firefox, they should fix the reload function. There's nothing much what Jeff could do here.

I dunno 'bout that but several times I've posted and my posts have vanished.

You don't even have to do that much. Just stick your cursor up there and hit enter.
