Monopods

I'm also thinking a lot about a monopod to help with stablization when I'm using my 55-200mm at the 200 end. Suggestions there?

And I would need to buy a head for it also, correct? Can the monopod head be used on a tripod?

The Manfrotto 676B (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/cache/off/lang/en/pid/2362?livid=107|117&idx=119) is popular. You do not need a head as such for a Monopod because you can angle the Monopod to where ever you need to point it but the Manfrotto 234RC (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/site/manfrotto/cache/off/lang/en/pid/2376?livid=107|117&idx=118) is handy because it gives you a quick release plus you can angle the camera at 90 degrees for portrait shots.
