So - I am thinking of settling on a Nikon D40, which seems like it will give me more of what I want for the type of shots I like. I found some deals on ebay that seem pretty good, from a dealer who seems reputable (lots of happy people).
This dealer has several variants of packages that come with a D40. From the body alone, to two, three or four lens'. The third and fourth lens are a wide angle and telephoto - which seem to be something I would also want.
The question I have is in the main lens. There isn't much detail about them aso I do not know what is better (sorry for ignorance).
One ad has these two:
Nikon 18-55 lens
Nikon 55-200 lens
Another version has these two:
Sigma 18-50 HSM
Sigma 55-200 HSM lens
A third option has these:
Nikon 18-55 lens
Nikon 55-200 VR Lens
The first option appears to be standard lens. The third option appears to have one as a vibration resistent lens.
The second option - what is an "HSM" lens?
Is vibration resistance in the 55-200 worth getting? Its about a $50 increase. What about the HSM? What is that? Thats yet again another $50 above the LR lens.
Thanks!
Glenn
