View Full Version : New business cards
I redesigned my business cards since I wasn't too happy with the templates. Sure - the old card with a photo on it was nice but it was very bride specific. The tip table on the back was a neat way of making sure people kept the card but on reflection screamed "I'm a greedy sod - I want a tip as well".
Here are the front and back of my new cards...

Rhys,
You should trying something more creative. These says nothing about your talents or artistic vision it is just a menu of your services. Also, try something that looks similar to the colours on your website. This will help Sage Photo World establish a brand.

I tried green but didn't like the fact the text was harder to read.

They are pretty much to the point though. You could consider different designs depending on which client you are targeting. One like this with the basic details and services and one more artsy. Anyway, this card isn't bad.

I agree, you need to get more creative with your designs.
If I see your card, I feel that you have no experience in photography and just want to make a quick buck.
You need more emotion.
For example, I'm working on my cards as well and thought I'd try something to pull the attention of my target market.
It's still in logo form, but it's an idea:

Just out of curiosity, does anyone ever question you about the fact you have a Canon 1 series digital camera on your website and card, but you don't actually use one?
Ray.

While I don't think it's kosher, I also don't think the average consumer would notice, care, or even be able to tell. The fact that consumers can't tell or don't care also makes me believe it's rather cheesy and pointless to use such an image for a logo in the first place.
I just put a camera to make it clear that it was a photographer's card from a distance.
As far as the public is concerned, they couldn't care less what SLR was used. To most of them, they don't even want to know the subtle differences between SLRs. Heck, most don't even know what make their mobile phone is.

I wonder if Canon might think you'd need their permission to use that image?
