Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.
-250 dollars tops
Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
-Dose'nt really matter
Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?
-Not too sure

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
-Wont need ultra zoom i wouldn't think. Id say 3-4 would suffice. More if budget allows but like i say, wouldn't think too much more.
* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
-8
Do you care for manual controls?
-Wouldn't be a bad thing to have but its nothing that will be the be all end all factor.
General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
-Sports shots(football, powerlifting), family/friends
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
-Id say i will be shooting a few low light and indoor photos but mostly day(keep in mind football friday night)
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
-Football and powerlifting.

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
-Nope, not biased.
Are there particular models you already have in mind?
-Kodak z712, a couple canon powershots. (not sold on these just because i would like more opinions)
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
-Image stabilization.
-Id like panorama but its also not a be all end all feature.
-Dont care for video.

Thanks in advance.

Between Canon, Fuji, Kodak, Nikon, and Panasonic I think you have plenty of nice choices in that price range. With a lot of luck you might even turn up a leftover Canon S3. Here are links to more threads for ideas -
