I have a PraKtica PM3 with wide range lens attachments filters etc (screw attachment)

i am looking for a digital camera which will take these lens to save rebuying all of these.

My camera is for taking nature particularlly fast moving shots butterflies, dolphins insects and sport.

need to be able to take several shots in fast sucsession. to capture best shot (wings open).

Due to poor sight needs an auto facility to over come focusing which tends to be blurred on manual focus.

Also want to use for holiday, scenary, family use.

Is there such a camera that wont break the bank.

Hi there hmac...

I understand that the Praktica lenses are an M42 x 1mm thread, which is (was) also used by Pentax. There may be other brands other than Pentax that can use the M42 mount, but I've only owned the Pentax, so can't comment on other manufacturers.

The current range of Pentax dSLRs have available an M42 to K-mount adapter HERE (http://www.rugift.com/photocameras/pentax-adapter.htm) for their older threaded Pentax lenses, so I'd imagine that you could use any of the current Pentax dSLR cameras with your Praktica lenses and filters etc. Bear in mind though that any auto lens functions will be disabled.

I'm only guessing here, so maybe some of the other guys will know a lot more about it than me!

Cheers :)
