Was wondering if there's a digital camera out there that will not have the purple streaking in the video when shooting in bright sunlight. I took some video's on a family trip in FL last week and all but one have significant purple streaks in them. I'd perfer not to have to carry a separate video camera if possible and I currently have a Canon SD800.
Thanks!

Hi there Shaggy...
It's very difficult to offer an opinion on your problem without actually seeing what you mean by "purple streaking". My first guess would be that you're inadvertently picking up reflected sunlight from highly polished surfaces, such as a motor vehicle's chromework, or glass-faced buildings, or any other localised strong point source of light.
Usually though, this issue presents as vertical, bright white and/or yellow streaking rather than purple.
Would it be possible for you to post a couple of stills from the offending video for us to have a look at?
Cheers :)

OP is talking about flare. It shows up as purple lines coming out of the light source. On my Fuji F40 it's usually worse on the LCD than in the captured video.
Here's a quickie. Ignore the mess. Look at the door. The window caused purple streaks.
