I have had a lot of cameras over the last few years (A60, A75, S2IS (stopped working) and Nikon D40 DSLR). I love my SLR but want to replace my A75 for the times I don't want to take the SLR out. The ones I was looking at are the A720IS or A590IS. What do you guys think or would you recommend something else?

Hi there. You might get a better response by posting in the area dedicated to assisting with camera decisions: HERE (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4)

(FWIW, I think the A720 would give you great bang for your buck...great little camera)

I have the A710 and think it's a great little camera. From what I hear the A720 is even a little better.

I think the A720 is what I'm going to go with.

Great Choice! I love my A720. Take it everywhere and great quality pix.

I was looking at the A720 and was now leaning to the SX100. Good zoom, and features. It was pretty much a toss up still at this point.

I think either A720 or SX100 is fantastic, really its what suits you most

Another vote for the A720 IS from me!

I'm thinking it's one of the best compact P&Ss that Canon has produced for quite some time.. and it's more than a model year old now.

Image quality is without fault. Edge and corner sharpness perfect. Purple fringing virtually non-existent. Noise well controlled at all usable ISOs. Very little evidence of processing artefacts. Great dynamic range. Well thought out ergonomics. Nice 6x zoom. Consistently reliable fully AUTO mode.

Cheers :)
