I'm looking for a wide angle lens for my 650IS. I'm heading off to Italy in the next few months and I'll probably take more wide angle than close ups.
How does the WC-DC58b work? I don't want that "fish eye" effect, but I want ot be able to get everyone in a room together without having to crawl outside or scrunch myself into a corner - or worse make somebody else do it.
oe anyone have pictures taken with this Wide adapter indoors that I could take a quick look at?

Hi - I actually dug these pics out of the G7 Gallery over at Dpreview - different camera but it uses the same wide angle converter.

Try pictures 30 and 32. Looks like a standard-format converter, but be warned you will get slightly more barrel distortion at wide angle due to the optics (not a full "fisheye" effect, though).
Enjoy your trip - and come back and post pictures!

I wonder... SHould I break the bank and get a SLR? It won't be as portable but the pictures will be better.
DO they have a version of the digital rebel for non-pros?
Digital Rebel Junior?

The Rebels are for non-Pros. The majority of DSLRs today are for the consumer.

An A650is and a Canon Wide angle converter (plus lens adaptor) is probably going to cost the same (or at least very, very close to) an entry level dSLR kit
