Please explain

I am looking at purchasing either Nikon D40 or D40x can anyone tell what the difference is between the two. I will shot mainly sports pictures of my two kids, some indoors and outdoor shoots. Thanks for all the help.

basically 6megapixels vs 10megapixels if there not a significant difference in price it might be worth it to pick up the D40x, if the D40 is dirt cheap in comparison then get the D40.
