Anyone have any experience with this flash?
Do you think 120$ is a good deal for one?

I didn't even know something like the 380EX existed!!!!
well...from what I can see(from a quick Google search) it does not swivel which IMO is a big disadvantage plus it says somewhere that you cannot pair it with a 550EX (so I suppose it cant be paired with a 580EX either) which is a disadvantage if you want to use multiple flashes. Also you might be better off trying for a second hand 420EX if your short on cash or a new 430EX so avoid the 380EX disadvantage.....

The 430 is only 250 US at BandH. You'll get faster recycle times and the swivel feature. When you asked me about it I didn't realize that it didn't swivel.... There is a 430EX II coming out soon. I'm not sure what the pricing will be but it might be worth waiting to see. Maybe the 430 EX will go down in price... though I doubt it.

Since it doesn't swivel, you may as well go with a Vivitar DF22 (https://www.adorama.com/VVDF22C.html).

Horizontal Swivel is great for bouncing of the ceiling but thats about it....sometimes you need to bounce on the wall behind you or one walls on the side....also you cant bounce it off the ceiling in portrait mode
