Hello and please forgive me if this thread is in the wrong area. I performed a search on my question before posting but no luck.
Simply question:
I can't find the multi-quote function in any of the threads. Where is it?
I've seen it on many other vBulletin based forums and the FAQ (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_vb3_replying) here dicusses it, saying the following:
If you want to post replies to multiple posts you can select them by clicking the multi quote button http://www.dcresource.com/forums/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif. This button will change to indicate that you've selected it. Clicking post reply will then bring you to the full editor with all the posts quoted.
Sorry if this is a dumb question and/or has been previously addressed.
Many thanks in advance for any replies. :)

I've never seen a multi-quote button here on DCRP. If I want to quote more than one person, I usually just open the thread in two different tabs and hit "Quote" in each of them. Then copy the text and code from one tab into the other. Because I'm too lazy to figure out how to write the whole thing myself.
One thing I think this forum setup does not allow is those pyramid quotes, with one person's quote inside another.

Thank you for your kind reply. I guess the fact that the feature doesn't exist here is a good reason for me not being able to see it! I thought for some reason the feature was disabled for newer members or something.
That's too bad about it not being available as it's a pretty common feature of vBulletin based forums - which is why the feature is even discussed in the FAQ in this forum. Anyway, makes life much easier when responding to several different posts - you don't have to open up a different tab and cut and paste the quotes into your reply. All you have to do is click the multi quote in each post you want to reply to and then when you hit "post reply" all the quotes are automatically populated for you to individually respond to...all in only one post! (Usually the multi quote button is located next to the regular quote button and the quick reply button)
I wonder why this feature has been disabled?? Hmmm.
Oh well, thanks again for answering my question.
Kind regards,

I think that's the default. It's not enabled on the other two vBulletin boards I frequent.

Interesting. I have never actually seen it available on any forum I use vBulletin or other. I just use the html tags and copying and pasting on the odd occasion I multi quote.

Here is a good example of where a multi-quote button would have come in handy. I instead opened a separte tab and cut and pasted the second quote from K1W1 below).:)

Perhaps it is the default - odd that it's proper use is referenced in the FAQ. I was trying to think of a reason that a site mod. may not want to enable it however I can't really think of a good reason. It's a neat feature that once you get used to quickly becomes your "friend" :)

Really? The only 3 other vBulletin forums I frequent do in fact use it. It's a nice little feature.
Perhaps if enough people are interested they might ask the "powers that be" to enable the feature. :)

Thanks Jeff, I have wanted to use this feature several times before and opened separate windows to cut and paste different quotes.
