Dirt!

...trying to clean dirt on the sensor. :p
I began with 2 spots of dirt resulting from moisture of the ice skating rink I think. Blew it, blew it, blew it and blew it with that hand pump (whatever they call it). Didn't work.... It got so frustrating and I did many things I wouldn't mention to you guys... I don't like being called an idiot.... I already know I'm one. :D I ended up using cotton swap and some fluid I knew I shouldn't use.... It ended up worse. But finally I ended up with 2 spots of dirt. That's an improvement or what? Well my reasoning was that if I have to pay someone to do it, I'd rather try it myself first but as it is now I might damage something though the camera is still working.

Funny thing is the spots only show at smaller aperture like F/16 and lower. Why is that? Or is that the way it is?

dirt/ dust typically is worse at small apertures. dont ask me for a technical explanation cos i dont know. maybe thats why i have never seen dust cos i dont think i've ever shot at anything smaller than f11.

Don't forget that if you are looking at the sensor though the front of the camera the dirt is diagonally opposite to where it appears on photos. A spot on the bottom left corner of a photo is actually on the top right corner of the sensor when you look at it.

BTW; When I see forum threads entitled Dirt! I get all excited because I think they are about Motocross bikes or something. This thread was a bit of a let down I must say.

I feel your pain, i got some nasty dirt in my camera as well. Nothing Photoshop cant fix tho.
