F40 - $150
S700 - $140

Only 3 month warranties. Canon specifies the included accessories, Fuji doesn't. I emailed Fuji and they said " Typically, the cameras come with a battery, USB cable and the manual". So no A/V cable but they are cheap.

I was going to order a refurbished Fuji S700 from fuji. After I did the math, it wasn't such a good deal. Both Adorama and Amazon sell this camera for about $155 including shipping. Fujifilmmall had it for $129 + $10 shipping. So really it is only $16 cheaper. For that $16 savings you get: No lens cap, no neck strap, no video cable, 9 months less warranty. Add in the price of a lens cap and neck strap, which are required for this camera, and you are more expensive than the new one!

Just do the math and make sure it really is a good deal to go refurbished. Sometimes it is, sometimes not.

Good point about S700 but the other cameras look like a low price or ones that aren't even in stores anymore.

Yeah, I am not saying that you should never buy refurbished. Just look at the whole package and make sure it is really as good as it looks. Buyer beware, etc.
