I have been using an XTi and have been happy with it, but am wondering if it's time to move up to a higher quality camera. The lens I shoot w/ 99% of the time is the Canon EF 28-135 IS. If I mounted that lens on a 5D or 40D, what appreciable differences would I notice? I know that the 5D is full-frame sensor, but what about color, contrast, quality of photos? I'd love some input from you more experienced folks!

Thanks ;)

Almost the same if you use it on the 40D. However, the "feel" of the camera will be different. Immediately with my first use of 40D (my first camera is XTi also) I noticed the difference in the shutter. It almost the same feel as the Leica rangefinder of my friend.

You'd probably get blurry edges/corners on a FF body.
