Couple people asked how I did it. The original idea was mount the camera to a bat and swing it capturing the contact. I did that once but thought it was too much abuse for the camera. So i mounted the camera to the bat with a hose clamp, with a hole drilled in it and a couple of washers.

Then get your oldest out of the pool to help you. Explain what you are doing and you should get a similar expression from your child.

if you're setting it up like that, just use tape to hold the ball on the bat and then photoshop it out :D

What fun would that be? Somebody else suggested sticky tack.
I may just nail it to the bat, this way i could get the swing action
blur I wanted.
Did you see what I did to my other son to get a shot? Its on flickr.
Thanks for the comments.

It keeps the kids guessing, makes them think I am a little off. Just a little.

Just let them read some of your posts on this forum then they will know that you are "a little off".

It's not a very guarded secret. I the one their friends parents warn them about.
Strange. I think my kids (teenage daughter particularly) apologise in advance about me as well. :)
