Do you think people are too sensitive these days to this sort of thing?

I'd like to think that as long as this guy wasn't tracking my kid with his camera and directly taking shots of him in a public area, I wouldn't care.
Has anyone had any encounters like this?

there should be no poll. this is ridiculous. whats completely insane about this is that typically some poor bastard with a dslr gets harrased with an 18-55mm lens while some other flunky standing next to him with a P&S grabbing 400mm zoom is left alone.

this has become a big problem in australia aswell, i suspect all over the world. what a sad indictment on our society huh ? :(

This is really nuts. I don't understand why people get so freaked when they see a DSLR. I guess if you really wanted to get into illicit stuff with a camera you have to dress up like a tourist and carry a crappy, beat up P&S. No one takes a second look at those guys.

it's weird because the same people who freak out about their kids "ending up on the internet" would be ecstatic to see them in the newspaper...name and all.

Don't forget this is the Daily Mail. It's a bit rabid and a bit like the National Enquirer. It's something to wrap your fish and chips in or to tear into squares for use in the outhouse. It's not a serious newspaper compared to say The Times, The Independent or even The Guardian.
