I'm just really starting to get into real photography. I bought a SLR in October and now i'm starting to try to improve my photoshop skills. Can anyone please offer any criticisms or suggestions about this picture I shot yesterday and edited in PS. Thanks Tedd

I think it's a good shot, I like the composition with all the diagonal lines, and the bright colors of the flowers combined with the texture and detail of the clouds has a lot of potential. But I think the PP is a little overboard, I'd be interested in seeing the original.

I'm neither a photoshop expert nor a camera expert, but i'll throw in my 2 cents.
Personally I like the picture. It's very apocolipitic. The only thing i might try is to brighten the flowers a bit. Maybe use the dodge tool? They still look really good though, almost like they were CGI in there or something.
Props!

I think it's a good shot Tedd. I wonder what it would look like cropped to delete the water/tree line, so it's just the flowers sky...

i started to say it didn't look PP'd to me aside from contrast maybe...but didn't wanna get proven wrong. i think the bumped contrast was right on. and good call cloning out the leaf in the left side.

Move it down in your browser and you will see.

I like the final image.

I honestly love the composition and editing. Doesn't seem like too much PP to me.

Tedd, it is a fine shot. Don't worry too much about C&C. What really matters when it all boils down to it is whether or not you are satisfied with the shot. There are scores of photographers who never got any critical acclaim till they were long gone. Enjoy yourself.
