Low light

Keep running in to a problem with taking photo's at night or with very low light. Canon 40D any ideas? Thank you.:confused:

What kind of low light? Scenery? Human subjects indoors? What lens(es) do you use? etc.....

Would be helpful if you could post a couple of your "problem" pics for us to have a look at. Every picture tells a story.
