Hi

I just upgraded from my fujifilm finepix a202 to the canon a75.

On the whole the canon is sweet but unlike the fujifilm there seems to be no obvious way of useing the a75 as a webcam

am i just being uber dumb / or being blind an missing something in the manual.

on the fujifilm u just changed from dsc mode to usb mode an all was well.

any help would be appreciated :p

I have the A95, and would also like to know if it can be used as a web cam.
I know you can do it with digital camcorders, but not sure about digital cameras.

Hey,

This is how I would do it. First you need a way to composite video into your computer. Either a video card with VIVO or one of those extra cards or external capture boxes. Then you can use your video out on your camera and your video in on your computer and just leave your camera on capture mode, and hit the display button so that it shows nothing bu the image.

Cheers,
Cris :)

Cheers Cristofer :)

All a bit of a pain in the butt jus for the odd msn session an occaisional vid. might give it a go though if i can scrounge the bits together jus to see if it would work :( .

I have also just realised the camera is also usb 1.1 which means it would probably not be able to handle the data streamed from video (why most camcorders ect were fire wire).
