Hi!,
I am looking for a new phot printer so that I can print all of my landscape photogrpahs at home (except for the occasional 13x19). I read a review of the i960 at Steve's Digicams http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/canon_i960.html and he loved it. I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with this printer; good and bad. Thanks!!!!!

i know of somebody who has this printer. the quality is superb, the print speeds for photos are fast. the canon i960 is relatively inexpensive, i have seen it as cheap as $89.99 USD but it's since been surpassed by newer technologies. this is just my view, hope it helps.

My son has one, and he loves it. He gets some spectacular photos out of it, it's fast, and has separate ink cartridges. He had some minor trouble figuring out the color management settings, but once he did that it's been very easy to use.

I ordered a Canon i960 and should receive it tomorrow (1/21). It was $159.95 and then has $70 in rebates from Tiger Direct/Global Computing. I have an i9900 at work that is superb for printing photos and posters (up to 13" x 19"), and have a 4"x6" Canon dye sublimation printer (CP220) at home that is great, too. So, the i960 is intended for modest use for 5"x7" or 8"x10" photos.

Hi Andrew,
I simply love my Canon i960; it was inexpensive and although I'm sure I can get better quality with a printer with more ink bays (7 vs. 5), I really don't think it is worth the extra money. This printer beats my older Epsons, I've had 2, easy to set up and prints beautifully.
What I really want to know is if anyone has any information on the archive longevity of the prints these printer produce. I hear so many stories but would appreciate any direction on documentation.
Thanks a ton,
nwdiver

Count me as another super happy i960 owner. See my post in another printer thread moved from the Pana forum. The i960 is the perfect compliment to my FZ20.
Canon now uses the same 3000 (or so) nozzle print head in a large format printer; in fact they use TWO of them. The current Canon printers use a 1500 (or so) nozzle print head that uses less ink but IMO produces great results but not quite as nice as the i960. The i960 is an overall bargain and a great deal if you can still get a new one. Not to say anything bad about other Canon printers but the combination of price and a print head with twice the nozzles makes the i960 stand out in the Canon line. I hope they start using this head again in the sub-$300 printers again or I may just have to buy the i9000 and make some 13x19 prints...
You definitely WON'T go wrong with a Canon photo printer, especially the i960.
