New to the forum, looking for some advice. My current camera is a Yashica T4, its been very reliable and sturdy, however I'd like upgrade in technology.

I'm currently on the search for a digital camera which has weatherproof features. I travel quite a bit, but I also do a lot of backpacking and climbing. The need for my camera to be small, lightweight and weatherproof are important given that I plan to keep it in my jacket pocket, which can get humid (sweating). 4+ megapixels, 3x-minimum optical zoom, $500max are some parameters I'm looking for. Outdoor mainly but indoor pictures will also be shot. Red-eye seems to be a common problem with compact models.

In my search I've only come across 2 models fitting what I'm searching for:

Olympus Stylus 400/410
Pentax Option 43WR

Are there other models to consider?

We own the Pentax 43WR and are very very pleased with the digital camera. It is rugged, dependable, and delivers excellent digital photos.
