asia dlsr purchase

I hope to buy a mid-range dlsr with a selection of lenses in se asia soon while traveling back to a boat I live on which is currently in Sabah Borneo. As I sail continually warranties are of minor use. I will be traveling through mainland China, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and perhaps Singapore although the latter is not likely. Can anyone advise on which country would be best price-wise and perhaps give locations/stores as well?

This is a problem what I cannot solve for you, but when you are interested in a specific camera look on Ebay world wide for it, prices mentioned in Ebay give you an indication of the prices in those countries. I expect Hong Kong, Thayland, Malaysia and Singapore are selling the cam you want for a nice price, those countries are western orientated, so they haven the newest cams of western quality.

Hong Kong or Singapore, forget bout Malaysia. Lots of options, more than Malaysia and a far better market for DSLR.
