View Full Version : Macro filters; what's it all about?

What is a +1, +2, +4 etc. macro filter, what does it do, how does it work, what are the limitations etc. I've long been tempted to get one, but I have no idea what one is.
I have and use regularly #3, #2 and #1 close-up filters. They enable you to get closer with your camera. You can attach them #3 and #2 or #3, #2 #1, or #3 and #1. The larger number always goes on first. They do decrease the depth of field very much so be aware. Do a wikapedia search for Close-up Lens for a better explanation.
