Hello everyone. Its been a long time since I last posted. Here are some shots of my mate's footy match. The conditions were constantly changing and I'm not really too happy with these. Thought I would post and see if anyone had some thoughts, advice or comments. Cheers in advance, your opinions are always appreciated.

PS. Number three made the Taipei Times newspaper.

Wow, so many views and not one response. Normally I wouldn't care either way, but this time I'm really looking for some pointers. This was my first real sporting event and I'm not overly happy with my results. So again if anyone has any tips on how I could improve these shots, please let me have it. Major criticism is welcome here, no need to be polite.......LOL......to a point anyway:p

My opinion, for what it's worth (theoretical knowledge only!).

#1 - my pick of the bunch - a bit tightly cropped - cut off knee and hand, but a clear background and some good action.

#3 has good action - marred by, IMO, a bit of a messy background.

#4 maybe a split second too soon.

But in general they look good for the conditions you stated. What lens were they shot with?

Thanks for your comments and I definitely see what you mean, cheers. I have upgraded my super wide angle and my walk around, but I am fast learning the shortcomings of my cheap zoom lens. These were shot with the canon 75-300USM 4-5.6. Just not fast enough in these conditions. I really wanted to get into the stands and take some shots from higher up as to get rid of the distracting background, but as the second half wore on, and it was time to make my move, the light faded and my lens just couldn't keep up.
