Hello Jeff.
I've read about the problems getting cameras for review from Pentax. Do you think they'll let you review the K20D?

Funny that you mention it... I was just talking to them today. I'm not sure which one I'll get first, but I will be reviewing both the K20D and K200D later this summer. I'm really backlogged at the moment, and I'm leaving for vacation soon, so it'll be a while, unfortunately.

Wesan - How about you just buy it and give us a review ;) Just kidding. Nice Pentax cameras there and I'm sure it will perform well.
Jeff, I hope you enjoy a well deserved vacation. I know I'm looking forward to mine :)

Hehehe... Nice try, Spook! :p But before I buy it, I want to see Jeff's review of it first, so I can do some "measurebating pixel peeping" before I make up my mind... Not to mention, that I'll need enough money to buy one too, which I probably won't have for quite a while yet... :( I take it you're interested in the camera too?
What I like most about the K20D is the resolution, the built-in image stabilasation and that it's weather protected (or whatever the correct word is). It seems to have some problems with the auto white balance, though, so I'd like to see how it performs in Jeff's test/review.
Jeff - hope you'll have a nice vacation. :)

Wesan, I'm always interested in "the trend of cameras". I have a Xti and after nearly a year am still short of what it can do skillwise as a photographer.
I think they are all like that. Don't buy a camera unless it is a challenge. They all seem to behave differently under flash or strobe conditions plus there is the lens question on how far do you want to go

I'll add my name to the list of people who wish for a K20D review.
In the meantime, I'd recommend to Jeff...
I'd like to see a broader spectrum of cameras for your review list. I realize that you have a limited amount of time, and I appreciate your reviews. I just think that since you can only review a few dozen cameras per year, perhaps you should review a Pentax, a Casio, a Samsung, and/or a GE instead of reviewing every single Canon Powershot that comes down the pike. With the shelf-stuffing Canon has been doing, they truly monopolize your time.
...perhaps you should review a Pentax, a Casio, a Samsung, and/or a GE...GE????? Wait....GE??????? Maybe I missed that. GE?????? Excuse me, I thought you said GE. GE??????

Dpreview has a K20D review. They like it a lot.

Jeff,
According to other reviews of the K20D, it seems to have problems with hot pixels in high contrast areas, during certain circumstances. In your review of the camera, I'd like to know your experiences with this. If it would be possible for you, and you have time to check it, that is. :)

Jeff,
If you have time, please look closely at banding issue at higher ISO settings (>1600). I'm really looking forward to your K20D review.
It looks like your K20D sample has a dust spot on the sensor:

Yeah, I noticed the dust... I'll keep an eye on that. I will certainly keep a look out for banding as well.

I can't see any difference at all, between the pictures with expanded DR off and expanded DR on in the review. Is there something wrong with my computer or with the pictures in the review? Or is it my eyes? :o

Wes... look at the sky by the building- in one the sky is a slightly different color..it's a very sublte change- but it's there. Just keep clicking back and forth between the two photos, while looking at the blue of the sky, to the left of the building, above the treetops.

Oh yeah, now I see it. Very small difference indeed. Thanks, downtrodden.
