I am having great difficult choosing a new digital camera, my old camera decided to just go blank on me so I am need and need some extra guidance.

Budget

* 300 is the maximum

Size

* I am looking for a very compact camera not heavy and easy to fit into a pocket and size does matter a great deal
Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? at least 7 if not higher

* What optical zoom will you need? At least standard but would not rule out the ultrazoom
* How important is “image quality” to you? 8
Do you care for manual controls? Not necessarily a must have

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? point and shoot in low and sunlight, vacations, general everyday use
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? Yes some

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? YES
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? YES

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? I like canon, sony, pentax

Are there particular models you already have in mind? I have looked at pentax optio w30 but not sure if really need the waterproof feature

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) I surely need the image stabilization, and I enjoy the internal zoom as well
