Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? around 400
Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
easy to hold but not too bulky to carry practically.
Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you? I'd like 10. I want to make enlargements as well as crop and enlarge
* What optical zoom will you need? standard i think
* How important is “image quality” to you? 10
Do you care for manual controls? Yes
General Usage
* What will you generally use the camera for? Photos of baby, kids
* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? definately
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? yes
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? Yes, child does not ever stay still. Plus, I would prefer to catch action..not poses
Miscellaneous
Are there particular brands you like or hate? no
Are there particular models you already have in mind? Yes, I like both the Canon Powershot G9 and the Nikon P80. I can't choose between them because they have different pros that I want.
The G9 because I can use RAW images, the P80 for continuous shooting.
My current camera is a Canon Powershot my husband bought 3 or 4 yrs ago. I have a hard time catching the right moment. I wanted continous shooting because the smile or look always seems to come before or after I shoot. Also, I am frustrated at how long it seems to take for a picture.
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) image stabilizatoin, and movie clips. Would like RAW and a good continous shooting speed but not sure which is more important for me
