It is time to let my trusty Canon A540 RIP, the best vlaue based yet functional camera that I have ever owned. Water logged on the Dumbo ride by the wife at Disneyland, this great camera has been taken away, takin pics no more. Paid $109 way back whenever, seems like the best price ever on that quality/caliber camera ... it's a tough loss.
OK, moving on. No budget (no money, thanks Walt), what camera to buy? Loved the A540, now I see the A580 selling around $150. Should I just keep it simple and get the A580? I really like the idea of familiarity, save the old SD card ... Or are there other suggetions around $150 - $200?? Or a different "A" series camera that I should consider? I take the calssic family photos and plenty of nature shots. Plan to add a wide angle lens or filters this year.
Don't worry, our first day Disneyland pictures were saved. Marriage is still pending.
