Hey guys, I'm fairly new to photography, but like any hobby I pick up, I learning quickly and expanding my horizons. I want to buy one (or two) more lenses, as I'm getting bored with the ranges I am limited to with my current lenses. I own a Nikon D40 and I own a Nikkor 55-200 dx vr and a Nikkor 18-55 dx. I really like taking close up photos and wide landscape photos. So I'd like an affordable lense for each of these purposes. Which do you recommend? Thanks.

Posting a budget would help.
The lenses you have are a good range for landscapes. Do you find yourself wanting a wider lens for them? I find my 18-55 suitable for landscapes. You mention taking closeup photos. Do you mean, like shooting a flower or a bug, and it almost fills up the whole frame? That's called macro shooting. The "good" macro lenses start at about $400 with the Sigma 105mm (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/341922-USA/Sigma_257306_105mm_f_2_8_EX_Macro.html) and the Tamron 90mm (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/330643-USA/Tamron_AF272N700_SP_90mm_f_2_8_Di.html).
I'm not an expert though, you might try posting your question over in the Nikon DSLRs (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=23) thread. Also check out this great post (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showpost.php?p=303124&postcount=9)from Rooz.
this depends if you are comfortable with manual focus or not. if you definately want AF then the 3 macro options are the sigma 150mm f2.8 HSM and the Nikkor 105 f2.8VR, Nikkor 60mm f2.8 AF-S. if you don;t mind MF then there are too many macro options to list.
for a wide angle, its either the sigma 10-20mm HSM or the nikkor 12-24 AF-S which both AF on the D40. i think tamron are coming out with an 11-16mm WA aswell which will probably be rolled out in a d40 compatible model.
