Marc Adamus is one of my favorite landscape phototgraphers. Here is an example why....

Not only does he capture incredible images, but he's nice enough to share his techniques.

That is amazing. I agree. I especially like that it's such a simple method he uses, no crazy filters or photoshop actions.

A perfect example of getting it right in the camera. That's an awesome photo, it looks like something out of a Jean Auel book. Thanks for sharing this.

gotta admit that i'm not a fan of that effect so to speak. but what a genius technique he used to get the effect he wanted. i love it. thats old school man. you could learn a heck of alot spending a day with a guy like that picking up the little tricks of the trade.

He's pretty amazing; check out some of his other work...

He will sometimes spend days at the same location just waiting for the right lighting.

How do you blow condensation onto the lens two-thirds of the way through a 6 second exposure in daylight? I get that you wait 4 seconds. But you blow with your mouth? And how would the camera not "see" you? I can understand doing this with a long exposure at night, or a flash exposure, but daylight?

I suspect he did it to the side of the lens outside the Field of View. If not the guy is a ghost (which would explain the out of this world images he is producing!)

I wondered the same thing and this must be exactly what he did. I bet it was quite difficult to keep his face outside of the frame at 16mm on FF!

I bet it took him numerous attempts to get it just right. Normally I wouldn't believe this but this guy is as legit as they come. He hosts his own landscape workshops.

If he was using square filters wouldn't it be possible to blow on the back of the filter?
