Sony F828 - Mode shifts and loose lense

Hi!

I have two problems with my Sony DSC F828:

1) The lense is loose; this seems to be somewhat normal and I should be able to fix this myself
2) This might be due to problem 1): The mode shifts by itself, partiularly during focusing....

Did anybody experience problem 2 or 1 & 2 together?

I am wondering whether I should fix 1) myself or send it in to Sony right away.

I have seen instructions to resolve this on the dpreview site: go to the sony talk forum, and suggest a search.
