Is that happening mainly at the wide-angle end? If so, that would be normal. Your camera has a very wide wideangle for its minimum focal length; if you put any kind of filter on there at all, it'll tend to give you vignetting unless you zoom up the focal length to eliminate it. And a polarizing filter tends to jut out further than, say, a UV filter, right? So you'd see the effect more with your polarizer.
