Hi I'm going to Lake Tahoe in May. I'm really excited about it and I've seen beautiful pictures of Lake Tahoe on Flickr. I wish I would be able to take similar great shots too.
Does anyone have any tips of how to take pictures there? or any good spots for landscapes or others? Also I might be doing some kayaking on the lake. Will it be advisable to bring a camera in a ziploc bag onto the kayak?
Cheers

Get a polarizer.
Triple the ziploc bags, at least.

I drove around half of Tahoe once specifically to take pictures, but I can't say anywhere that is better than anywhere else. It depends on if you want a picture of people on the beach, a landscape of the water edge with rocks and trees, casinos, or to be looking down from high up a mountain. It depends on what you want and where you want to go. There is nowhere really "bad".
I had some good ones from a "park" (no development) area of the east side, but there are other probably better places to go. Emerald Bay, maybe? Tahoe isn't huge, you could drive around the whole lake in a morning looking for different places. The best shots are in the early morning or late afternoon, like usual.
The polarizer isn't a bad idea, though a little funny on an S3. Make sure you tie your camera down as well as bagging it, 'cause a bag won't do much if it sinks.

thanks for the tips.. i've always been using polarizer on my S3 so it's not a problem. will keep in mind to tie the camera. whether or not i'll bring it along will depends on the kayak storage space too.
